NGOR ISLAND, SENEGAL

NGOR ISLAND
The 11th Mars 2018, I visited Ngor Island.
Do I really need to write an article about it? It is more like a confession. I have so much to say, but I do not know where to start. I went with two friends to visit an island of Senegal, Ngor Island. The weather was perfect; the day has started very well. We arrived at Ngor beach around 1pm. It was the first time I went on the island.

My first mistake was to wear jeans. Even before the beginning of the trip, I was wet to the knees. However, I did not care. It was fun. It was the experience. It was extremely hot. When we arrived, a guy offered to make us visit the island for free. We settled down near the beach before following him. We visited the island barefoot. The sand was soft and cold at times, hot, and hard by others.
We went all around the island, climbed the cliff behind, explore the beach, the rocks and find our little paradise. During the visit, we met the islanders. They are very friendly. Among them, there were many talented and original artists. We took many pictures. The island is very inspiring. Architecture, decorations, colors, climate, plants, walls, everything was beautiful. The most ordinary places seemed to be incredible for photos. We spent a lot of our time watching the sea. It was good. The breeze was just right.
Returning to Dakar was so much faster. It looked like the dugout went faster than the alley. On the other hand, we did not want to go back.
Back in the neighborhood of Ngor, we walk a lot. We ended up landing on a beach of Almadies full of rocks and crabs.
We spend a little time discussing everything and nothing, life, nature, inspirations, etc. It was an incredible moment of socialization.
We share the passion of photography; we could not dry up on the subject. We took other pictures while waiting for the sunset. We climbed the small cliffs behind the Almadies to enjoy the sunset with ratchets. It was just amazing. We sat for almost an hour watching the sky, the sea, the stones, etc.
The sunset was very beautiful. We do not regret anything.
Actually, it allowed me to realize how much love I had for traveling. I feel more than satisfied with my dream of visiting Africa, starting with my own country.
To remember for next time:
  • No jeans, but shorts.
  • Find a power bank.
  • Take more money to buy souvenirs.
Logbook completed.

    1. Oh lalaaa, hahaha ! Les vetements court, c’est ma solution facile a moi ! Il ne faut pas hesiter a y aller, met quelque chose de facile a changer ? Au pire, tu vas secher vite. Tu peux te changer sur place aussi ^^
